Bronson School 1900-1910
Bourbon County, Kansas

Bronson High School was organized in 1900 with a two-year course of study.  It was extended to four years in 1903, and was discontinued in 1966.

We've gathered some photos of the first decade of Bronson High School's existence. Perhaps you'll find some of your family history here!

Wondering how these photos can help you with your Bourbon County genealogy? They place your ancestor in a particular place at a particular time, and give you an age range for them (note that the age range of students in a given class at that time was greater than it is now). It gives you leads for finding them in censuses by knowing who their neighbors and friends were. Often, future spouses and other family members such as cousins can be found in the same school...look carefully at other years than just the ones in which you know your ancestors attended.
